Potenciana
(1927- 1967)
“Chopping onions for mom at an early age inspired me to become a Chef. I remember vividly how much activities we had in the kitchen when mom cooked. Her combining various ingredients, blending of seasonings and flavorings yielded a delicious aroma in the air...like everything she put together was a party in one’s palate. So, growing up, I had envisioned having a “carinderia” as a business venture. Families and friends called upon me to put together a spread and I obliged because I enjoyed the gastronomic experience they encounter with the meals I prepared.
For many years, I treasured those moments with mom in the kitchen. Though she left us at an early age, the vision lingers in my mind. It became a passion…. In my heart, she’s there, pushing me to be a master in culinary arts. I knew it would happen one day and that realization of my dream is here, Potenciana...forever in our hearts.”
